District Overview:

• There were 33 residential burglaries district wide including 12 apartment incidents in the I2 beat that are a part of a recent rash of incidents that have plagued the beat since the middle of April.

• On scene arrests were made in residential burglaries in the G1, H1 and I1 beats.

H2 Beat:

• Robbery: A juvenile male walking in the 10200 block of Sutherland Road was the victim of an armed robbery on Wednesday 4.28 at 5:30 p.m. The suspects approached the victim, grabbed him around the neck, produced a knife and demanded property. The suspects grabbed the victim’s iPod from his hand and removed cash from his hands before fleeing. Suspects: (3) B/M 16-18, 5’10, one suspect was armed with a knife.

Residential Burglaries: An acquaintance is suspected in one of the two burglaries. Friday 4/30 1:03 a.m. Preliminary information received from CAD report for 400 block of University Boulevard E.

Friday 4/30 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. 1300 block of Dilston Place. The victim returned home and found an acquaintance in the front yard who acted suspicious and was eager to leave. The victim checked the residence an hour later and noticed a broken basement window. Unknown what was taken.

I1 Beat:

• Robbery: An 18 year old male was robbed as he walked in the 12200 block of Tech Road on Friday 4/30 at 9:39. The suspects followed the victim when he refused to allow one to use his cell phone. One suspect produced a knife and threatened the victim and another implied he had a gun. The suspects removed the victim’s bus pass and cash and fled on foot. After a lookout the suspects were apprehended and positively identified. Arrested: B/F, 15 years old : Address: Washington, DC

• Residential Burglaries: A juvenile was arrested in one of the two residential burglaries. Monday 4/26 5:30 a.m. -6:05 p.m. 12900 block of Chathlake Lane. Suspect(s) entered an unlocked rear window and removed cash.

A homeowner in the 3200 block of Galway Drive observed a suspect enter a shed at his residence on Saturday 5/1 at 5:30 p.m. and went to investigate. The owner chased and detained the suspect who removed a bicycle. The suspect was arrested without incident. Arrested: B/M, 15 years old: Address: Silver Spring, Md.

I2 Beat:

• Residential Burglaries: Twelve of the fifteen burglaries are a part of the recent trend of apartment burglaries in the beat. Front doors were pried in 11 of the incidents Monday 4/26 8:00 a.m. - 8:17 p.m. 3300 block of Tea Garden Circle. Suspect(s) pried a front door and removed a computer.

Monday 4/26 8:00 a.m. -2:02 p.m. 14100 block of Castle Boulevard. Suspect(s) used unknown means to enter a sliding glass door and removed laptops, two televisions, camera equipment and a diamond ring.

Monday 4/26 6:00 a.m. -5:58 p.m. 13500 block of Aston Manor Drive. Suspect(s) pried a front door and removed a television, computer, Nintendo and ammunition.

Monday 4/26 8:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m. 3300 block of Hampton Point Drive. Suspect(s) pried a front door and removed cash, a digital camera, and a laptop.

Monday 4/26 7:30 a.m. -7:07 p.m. 13900 block of Castle Boulevard. Suspect(s) pried the front door and removed a laptop, jewelry and a television.

Tuesday 4/27 11:00 a.m. 2700 block of Fairdale Terrace The victim observed the suspect attempting to pry open a rear window with a shovel. The suspect fled after observing the victim. Suspect: H/M 16-20 years, 16-20, carrying a shovel

Tuesday 4/27 5:30 p.m. -6:30 p.m. 4000 block of Wood Swallow Court. A relative who was observed at the residence by a neighbor during the listed times is suspected in the incident. The front door was forced open and jewelry, alcohol and an Ipod were taken.

Wednesday 4/28 10:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. 3400 block of Robey Terrace.The suspect(s) pried the front door and removed a laptop, and jewelry.

Thursday 4/29 6:45 a.m. -3:30 p.m. 3400 block of Hampton Hollow Drive. The suspect(s) pried open a front door and removed an electronic game system, television and a laptop.

Thursday 4/29 9:30 a.m. -6:30 p.m. 3500 block of Sheffield Manor Terrace. The suspect(s) pried front doors to 2 apartments and removed jewelry, a televisions, cash, clothing and laptops.

Thursday 4/29 8:50 a.m. -9:33 p.m. 3500 block of Aston Manor Ct. The suspect(s) pried the front doors to 2 apartments and removed an Ipod, laptop computers a television and sunglasses.

Saturday 5/1 12:20 a.m. Preliminary information received from the CAD for 2900 block of Shepperton Terrace.

Between Saturday 5/1 1:00 a.m. and Monday 5/3 1:01 a.m. 3400 block of Hampton Hollow Drive. The suspect cut a front window screen to enter. The victim who was in the process of moving in believes someone was inside while he was sleeping. Nothing was taken.
