Md. Senate Passes Medical Marijuana Bill
Maryland senators passed a bill to legalize medical marijuana, but the measure is not expected to pass the House of Delegates.
Senators voted 35-to-12 Saturday to allow pharmacies to distribute marijuana to patients with a doctor's prescription.
"We think this bill offers the most carefully crafted medical marijuana law in the country," said State Sen. Jamie Raskin (Montgomery County-D.). It offers legal protection and safe medical access to patients who are desperately in need and it takes every possible measure to prevent abuses." Other state lawmakers said the bill has little chance of passing the House of Delegates and becoming law. SOURCE: NBC Washington
