WHEATON, Md. - Montgomery County Police are investigating the death of a 27-year-old male who was found Wednesday morning in the 3300 block of Randolph Road in Wheaton. Officers responded to a call for shots fired in the area around Wheaton High School shortly after 1:00 a.m. for a call for shots fired. When they arrived they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. The man died at the scene.
Around 2:00 a.m., a 27-year-old male walked into the 4th District Station located at 2300 Randolph Road and claimed to be responsible for the death of the victim. He was taken into custody and transported to the police headquarters to be interviewed. Police believe that the victim and a 22-year-old male acquaintance went to a residence in the 3300 block of Randolph Road and were involved in a confrontation outside the home in the front yard.
