Police cruiser hits teen in Gaithersburg

The Gaithersburg Police Department confirms that a 14-year-old boy was struck by a police cruiser. The Associated Press reports that a teen was struck at about 3:15 p.m. as he crossed the intersection at Darnestown Road and Quince Orchard Road. Gaithersburg police said the teen was not in the crosswalk when he was struck. The teen was taken to a hospital for treatment for minor injuries. Police are still investigating the accident.
